Passerine Hat

The design for Passerine Hat emerged out of a love for birds and fascination with their behavior and traits.

Named for the order of birds characterized by perching habits, this fitted hat is worked seamlessly in the round, from ribbing to crown. It features a stranded bird motif in two contrasting colors and a crisp ribbing with a contrasting color accent.

This pattern is recommended for intermediate-level knitters who have experience with knitting in the round.  New skills you may learn include stranded colorwork, and reading from charts.

Saturday, April 13 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Hermione's Everyday Socks

Hermione, as described in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter Series, is a rather smart and practical heroine. While she can dress up with the best of them, these socks remind me of something she might wear while practicing charms or transfiguration or reading up on Arithromancy in the Gryffindor Common Room.

This intermediate level sock is knit from the cuff down and features a garter stitch edged slip stitch heel. The pattern itself is written for one size, but with a 4 stitch pattern repeat, it is easily customizable to fit whatever size one desires.

Thursday, April 18 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Simple Scarf

This scarf can be knit using any worsted weight yarn. Two 100g skeins with approximately 200 yards each will provide enough yarn.

You can easily adjust the length to your liking. This will require more yarn than stated in the pattern.

As written, this scarf measures 8” wide and 48” long.
